Child Safety Standards
Athena Matchmaking (Google Play listing: Athena Matchmaking, developer Verduzco Holdings Inc) — our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Last updated September 2026.
Who Athena is for
Athena Matchmaking is an adults-only service. Every member must be 18 years of age or older, confirms their date of birth at sign-up, and verifies their identity with a live selfie before any introduction is made. Accounts found to belong to minors are removed immediately.
Zero tolerance for CSAE
We explicitly prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every form. This includes any content or conduct that sexualizes, exploits, endangers or grooms minors; child sexual abuse material (CSAM); sextortion; trafficking; and any attempt to contact, solicit or meet a minor. There are no exceptions and no warnings: such accounts are permanently removed and, where required, reported to law enforcement.
How we prevent, detect and respond
- Age is confirmed at sign-up and identity is verified with a live selfie before introductions.
- Profile photos and verification selfies are reviewed.
- Members can report any person, conversation or introduction from inside the app (shield icon → Report). Reports are reviewed by a human within 48 hours.
- Confirmed CSAM is preserved as evidence, removed from the service, and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement as required by law, including 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.
Reporting a child safety concern
Anyone — member or not — can report a child safety concern by emailing support@AthenaMatchmaking.com with the subject line “Child safety”. You do not need an account to report. We respond to every report and cooperate fully with law enforcement and regional authorities.
Designated point of contact
